This nonfiction compendium is a riveting tour through the landscape and meaning of modern conspiracy theories, exploring the causes and tenacity of this American malady, from Birthers to Pizzagate and beyond.

The now disgraced host Alex Jones is mentioned by name several times throughout Merlan’s book – he responded on his show by labeling Ms. Merlan "A murder of the truth. An assassin of reality. A killer of America.”
